Hardscape Work in Charles County
Most of the work on these properties is patios, driveways, and walkways — plus the retaining walls that make a sloped Southern Maryland yard usable. Clay-heavy soil and freeze-thaw are what break hardscape here, so the base gets built for both.

Questions
Common Questions
How much does a paver patio cost in Charles County?
Most paver patios here run $15–$30 per square foot installed. A 300 sq ft patio typically lands between $4,500 and $9,000. What moves the number: the paver you pick, how much excavation and base the site needs, and whether you add a seating wall or a fire pit. You get a written price before anything starts.
How soon can you get out for an estimate?
Reach out today and you will hear back today. Most estimates get scheduled within a few days — sooner if the schedule is open.
Pavers or concrete — which should I put in?
Concrete is poured as one slab: cheaper up front, quicker to install, and it will eventually crack somewhere you cannot hide. Pavers are set individually over a compacted base, so they flex with the ground instead of cracking, and a damaged one lifts out and gets replaced. If you plan to keep the house a while, pavers usually cost less over the life of the surface.
Do you handle drainage and base prep, or just lay the pavers?
Base prep is the job. The site gets excavated and graded so water runs away from the house, crushed stone goes down and gets compacted, and the pavers are set and locked in with polymeric sand. Almost every failed patio traces back to what is underneath it, so that is where the time goes.
Do I need to be home while the work happens?
For the estimate it helps — you can point at what you want and talk through options on the spot. During the install you do not need to be there. Access to the work area and somewhere to stage materials is all that is needed.
